Just my two cents worth.
I enjoy when modern events stage historical scenes with costumes, tools, cars, etc. like Lerro charters. I also understand that takes quite a bit of money and coordination and I appreciate the effort people put into it. On the other side of the coin, after the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine did their "Shay Day" event, the number of people on facebook who complained that the YMSP didn't repaint the locomotives to West Side, and didn't tear down cars or build new ones just so the "right type" of cars were being used is ridiculous. I even had one person complain that the train crew (myself among them) weren't wearing the right clothes for the period. Of course, none of the people making these complaints went to the event or supported the railroad in any way, shape, or form. While these folks were a bit agitating, ignoring them is easy enough online.
