Hi Stewart. I’d love to see some of your photos of the non-operating sections. Especially any earliest ones where the trees weren’t so darn huge. On our 1960s trips one time I recall they ran M1 down to the Pogue bridge - I think I’m remembering that correctly. There was just weeds and small saplings between the rails. But I do remember seeing the Saltillo water tower and station, and exploring around Kimmel and the Sideling Hill Tunnel. The switchstand was still at the Kimmel siding, but I bet it’s long long gone by now. I love exploring abandoned lines and considering that the rails are still in place, the EBT is about the ultimate.
Cheers,
Ralph
