1936 4 Engine Marshall Pass Stock Trains
Below is a list of all the 4 engine stock trains during the 1936 stock rush on Marshall Pass. In addition, there were 38 three engine trains in which at least half of the cars in the train were loaded stock cars. The first engine listed was the “road” engine, meaning that it was the only engine on the train that operated the entire distance between Gunnison and Salida. Half of the trains ran with 2 engines from Gunnison to Sargent, where other engines were added. Location of engines in the train was the responsibility of the crews involved. Actual placement of engines is unknown. If two engines were placed on the head end, the second engine listed would have been the lead engine. Departure time is from Sargent. (Number in parenthesis is transit time between Sargent and Marshall Pass. 1:15 = 1 hour, 15 minutes.)

I realized that in posting this listing, I failed to mention that I had done this compilation some 8 years ago from postings by Jimmy Blouch, which covered the period August 24, 1936 through April 30, 1937. I believe I did a compilation for Cumbres Pass as well, but I can't find it at the moment.
