A family trip to Durango in 1960 hooked me on narrow gauge and the United C&S 2-6-0 was the only thing I could afford at the tender and unemployed age of 15. Russo, you're right about getting the thing to run properly. It had a tender mounted Rohmford "Terrior" motor from Great Britain. Wouldn't pull the stink out of a f**t. I did make it run with a replacement motor but had to jack up the tender tank 1/8" to get it to fit. The side rods were so soft that they wore ovals and had to be replaced after about a year.

But it got me started in HOn3. I still have it, in pieces in a box. Just can't bring myself to toss it.
