Tuesday, 11 February program.
Bill Jones will be presenting highlights from the rail adventures of Morris Abbott between 1936 and 1955. He photographed his yearly Colorado vacations in B&W, color, and 16mm movies. Among the variety, we will see the Pike's Peak Cog line, Rio Grande Southern, Midland Terminal, and Club excursions on the Rio Grande. Join us to see some unique views of Colorado railroads (and more) in the 1940's and 1950's.
This image was from the last trip that the Rio Grande operated over Marshall Pass in Colorado. A few members of the Rocky Mountain RR Club were fortunate to be riding in the extra caboose. From left to right on the platform -- Jack Riley, Jack Thode, Irv August, Dick Kindig, and Bob Richardson. Below are Ed Haley, Mac Poor on the coupler, and Morris Abbott, at Sargents.
