Merrilees Collection - WP&Y

Andrew Merrilees was a businessman in Toronto, Ontario, who in the 1950s and 60s had a passion for collecting transportation photographs - primarily trains. The collection is now at Canada's National Archives in Ottawa, and comprises more than 330,000 prints/negatives. Andrew aquired most of these by purchasing existing collections, both in the USA and Canada, and about a third of the collection is of US railroads.

Here's a sample of some of the White Pass photos. Since these are from collections, some may have been seen previously, especially by folks specifically interested in the White Pass. However some of them might also be new, so at the expense of a couple extra electrons, I'm posting them here.

Note, these are mostly thumbnail photos taken by researcher Carl Riff. The originals are much better quality. If used, they should be credited to Library & Archives Canada - Andrew Merrilees Collection.
