Sundown and Southern Auction

June 25, 2019 09:11AM
In another thread I asked where the La Boca tank ended up. I remember at one time there was a final sale list of the items sold at the Sundown auction and someone published it. I can't locate the list to see if the La Boca tank was in the listing of items sold. Long history with this tank after D&RGW abandonment. I was told Bob Shank bought the tank but then he bought a lot of stuff post abandonment.

My interest in where the La Boca tank went has to do with my interest in the area including the tank and remaining bridges still in use. I first visited the area in 1970 or 1971 when my Dad and I explored what was an abandoned railroad with rails still in place. There was a scrapper just East of Monero removing rails with what looked like a 1940's era yellow colored 3-axle Dodge ex-military vehicle turned into a crane.
