Yesterday was the start of the June "Work Week" in Como;
D&RGW 6302 arrived from Silver Plume on Saturday. First task of the day was to move the car up the track to make room for the next arrival. 6302 was donated to the Colorado Historical Society by the D&RGW in 1971. CHS/History Colorado de-accessioned the car and donated it to the South Park Rail Society. Clearly we have our work cut out for us on this one!
Within half an hour, former Cumbres & Toletc rider boxcar 203 joined 6302 on the end of the main line.
Work underway on placing the timbers around the turntable pit ring and starting track 13 to the ashpit.
By the end of the day track had almost reached RGS 256 (which is sitting just in front of the ashpit) and almost half the timbers had been placed.
