Just to add a little news regarding 1008. Progress continues, much slower than we would like due to unusually heavy rain in Southern California, or maybe it just seems unusual because of the drought we have been experiencing for the past several years. A major update, with photos is coming soon to report on our progress. Currently the frame, which had been completely assembled, has been completely disassembled in preparation for a short move from the covered patio at my home to the final assembly area on our R.V. pad next to our garage/shop. We have collected all parts required to reassemble the frame with springs and wheels. This will be followed by the addition of our recently completed brake cylinder, reservoir and triple valve assembly. Shane Schabow who is a member of the 1006 restoration team is trying to help us obtain a sink for 1008 using the sink from 1006 as patterns to have castings made. I will be driving to Fremont, CA tomorrow to pick up a brake wheel staff from the SPCRR at Ardenwood farm, certainly an important item. We are very fortunate to have had such great support throughout this project from various groups and individuals.
