A couple of times I got marooned in AZ when I needed to get back to Alamosa. US 285 was closed south of Antonito, Cumbres was closed, Wolf Creek was closed as was Red Mountain and Lizard Head. I ended up going up through Cortez, Monticello, UT, across to Placerville over Dallas Divide and onto Montrose for the night. The next morning Cochetope (sp?) was open to Saguache and I went home that way. Took forever. One other trip found heavy snow on Wolf Creek that my Shelby Mustang could not plow and pull the hill too, so I went south to Chama. It was snowing hard there, so I went south to Espanola and up 285 from there.

Life in the mountains is a blast.......
