483 came back into service fairly quickly. I've seen Andy Payne shots of 483 taken in 1959 with a nice shiny new cab with new unpainted electrical conduit and fuse box on the front wall of the cab. If you study 483's cab there are some minor differences between it and other 480 cabs.

490's cab still exists up at Hermosa.
