Well that explains why we saw it in early June (3rd) taking the first freight loads to Farmington(478 that is). I believe it took the next freight set down there as well. Makes more sense now. With few grades to worry about the 470's could easily do the job. Also makes sense that on June 4th the bigger 498 was used to take a freight Chama. Even then the engine barely made it up Bocea hill, and could really have used a helper. Probably weeds were the main issue. Lots of slipping! Nearly stalled!
