thanks for the comment John. I often wonder how many people are following this thread. Hope the NGDF adds a counter to track views. I'm thinking about further trips like this one (which still has several posts to go) and knowing people are interested would probably motivate me to make more trips...
Let's continue down the 1919-20 incline. A few more feet of walking and I found a tie:
A little further and the grade entered an area of thick brush:
This took a little bit of work to get through, but on the other side the grade was very open:
About a hundred feet later the grade suddenly increased in slope and became less distinct:
I think there was a trestle here. About 100 feet later the grade ends up joining the dirt road I drove in on and follows that for about 1/4 mile down to the bottom.
