Another DRHS restoration

October 30, 2018 10:32AM
Hot on the heels of D&RGW Reefer #39, the Durango Railroad Historical Society has just completed the restoration of D&RGW Flatcar 6215. Part funded by the Colorado Historical Fund some of the heavier work was sub contracted to Timberwrights at Arboles, with members carrying out finishing work. The 6215 has now been transported to Silverton where it joins the Society's other restored cars. And before someone says something, boxcar 3670 DOES need a coat of paint and some work, but not that much. Behind you can see the new build of the SN oil shed. The next project is a restoration of the SN Engine House by the San Juan County Historical Society aided by the DRHS. Funds from History Colorado have already been secured.
