I normally would not dignify this with a response but what you just said is incredibly wrong. All that I ask is that you realize that there are young people who read this forum who are passionate about this just as much as you all. I simply do not appreciate being labeled as “nothing”, lazy, and blind to or incapable of dealing with adversity. Many of us, especially those of us are trying to carry on your work in heritage preservation. And yes, I am offended at simply being listed as those things above simply because of my age.
If you want these heritage railroads to continue, if you want this history to be passed from generation to generation you better get rid of that blind ignorance and learn how to speak to us in a way that doesn’t label us as “nothing” because that is simply not the way to do it. Normally I am the last one to be “offended” by something but this is the last place where I thought I would see something like this. Did you know at least one of my millennial friends owns and is currently restoring two narrow gauge cars? Did you know a considerable portion of the D&S train crews are under the age of 30? Think about the people that those words target. I am disgusted. I am not running away, I’m right here telling you that you are wrong.
