Wow, Dave!!! I just now stumbled upon this!!! Outstanding work. I have been trying to figure out the MP locations and exact station locations since I moved to Mancos in June of last year using bits and pieces of maps and satellite views I printed off the computer. I drive and walk the old grade from almost to East Mancos tank to past Cima often and your mapping with overlay will help a lot. Seen a moose, but never a bear and it took the second trip to finally figure out the land had slipped and a piece of intact roadbed had shifted so far. Apparently there was an old hiking trail that links the roadbed up (complete with a small forest service type sign that says, "CIMA RES." but the first time I found the rest of the road bed I just dead reckoned up the side of the hill until I came out on it. That was a mystery to me for some time, which the overlay of the engineering map clears up a bit.
Just for kicks, this is a video I shot from my pickup from Grady to the end of where motorized vehicles are allowed. The road is even in worse shape past the Cherry Creek road this year and there was little sign that anyone had been out there:
