Train accidents occurring on Alamosa Division and Rio Grande Southern, during the Month of September 1929, reportable to Interstate Commerce Commission.
Collision of Train No. 426 with coal cars on passing track Tres Piedras, Sept. 13th, Engine 166 and coaches ran thru open switch at Tres Piedras and collided with cars on siding - section foreman left switch open when he removed motor car from siding. Main track blocked 8 hours, 3 minutes.
February 16, 1932
Cumbres Pass was blockaded by a blizzard. Rotary OM and OY were stuck. The D&RGW brought Rotary ON down from Salida over Poncha Pass. They were so short of power, they took 174 off the Chili Train at Antonito and put her behind two K-36s pushing ON.
Rotary ON with 488, 481, 174, and Caboose 04990 arrived Cumbres Pass spent 6 hours 35 minutes turn and coal up rotary and engines. Tied up at 2:35 PM for rest and wait for rotary OM)
