Re: WP&Y sale to Carnival + others finalized; $290 million

The letter linked from the KTOO.org webpage is worth reading. It is addressed to the Municipality of Skagway, written for the entire community, from one of the managers of Survey Point Holdings and tells the story of that firm, its activities in S-E Alaska, and how it came to be involved with the purchase of the railroad and the docks. It further tells of what they envision doing to the docks to support the cruise ship business and thus support the railroad and the town.

Hopefully, the new owners will live up to their statements of working with the community, being a good employer and a good neighbor.
