Have they selected which oil to burn? The Grand Canyon Railway had chosen Diesel fuel for 4960. I believe that is only Steam Locomotive in the U.S. to use Diesel rather than bunker oil. That was back in 2006 or so just prior to Xanterra purchasing the GCRY. After that they were forced to begin burning a combination of used vegetable oil and Diesel. I believe Diesel, even for non-road use is more expensive per gallon then bunker oil. Utilizing Diesel may simplify logistics as they likely already have storage tanks on-site for Diesel fuel. Aside from the cost per gallon difference, I'm sure there's a BTU difference between the two.
