On a completely related note, last fall I returned to Chama for the first time since 1995, rode the Goose, took the Firemans School and stayed at The Hotel & Shops for the first time. I enjoyed everything so much that I decided to repeat the trip this year, minus the Goose (it's not in town at the time). I just booked my stay at The Hotel & Shops Oct 5-10 and am looking forward to everything that awaits.
