When I was in Skagway a few weeks ago, I was told that the older wood cars were going to be surplus. With the sale of the White Pass to Carnival Lines/ Holland America, there is talk about increasing the 500 thousand person per season capacity to over a million riders in the next few years. The older cars are not suited to their operation. The White Pass got a few passenger cars from the Pacific Coast Railway prior to World War 2. One of the cars was used in the movie Diamond Jim Brady. As a member of the San Luis Obispo Railroad museum restoration group, the Pacific Coast car would be a heat addition to our Pacific Coast collection. As stated before the cost of purchasing and shipping would be prohibitive at this time. Ted Van Klaveren
