I watched this video that was linked from another website. As I have mentioned before I am not a huge fan of this engine. To draw a comparison think of it this way. When Santa Fe made CF7's they chopped them and a perfectly good F7 gave its life for the CF7. The Red Devil was a perfectly good 25NC before being messed with. Don't get me wrong, I am glad they have restored it, and I wish them well. Seeing it reminded me of pacing 4-8-4''s on the De Aar to Kimberly line at 55 mph, especially the red-wheeled 3436 (Molly), which was scrapped around 1993 I think. I did get a couple shots of the 3450, but it didn't sound or look as good as a regular 25NC. Had it been embraced by the railroad for its worthwhile changes, and if it had prolonged the use of steam, then perhaps my view would be more positive!!! Just my opinion. As it is I consider it a novelty engine.
