Also the Galloping Goose Historical Society has its museum in Dolores which is a short drive from Mesa Verde.
Besides the Goose there are a lot of artifacts to look over.
Going north on 145 is not suggested at this time as the Burro fire is raging southeast of Priests Gulch.
Command center for that fire is at Dolores school..
