Interesting, but overlooked -
There's a summary of 1968 action on the thread at [
ngdiscussion.net], the Subject Line of which has been changed from
'Mad Dash Questions (And Answers)' to
'Final Year of D&RGW Narrow Gauge Freight Operations - 1968', which IIRC will at least identify all of the dates and the locos – if not the crew members – involved in activity on the "main line" and the Farmington Branch during 1968. SFAIK, neither Ernie nor his co-author Joe Hereford photographed the freights on June 3-6 nor June 14 &15 (the 50th Anniversary dates of which have recently passed), but I received a large envelope from Ernie about 45 minutes ago which I believe contains his negatives exposed on July 17 & 18 — including photos of the very last 'Cumbres Turn', which took place on the morning of July 18, 1968
