I was down there in 2014. We went to the access road, and just as I was about to park here comes a pick-up up over the crossing, and we had to move. We chatted for a moment and he said he was herding cattle in the valley. He said it was private land, but we could go down there if we were careful, and move our car out of the way, which we did. So would not suggest parking that might block the gate so someone could get in and out. Oh, you have to also walk across the little trestle down there to go east up the tracks to the tank if thats what you want. Foliage is getting tough to see anything down there, but its still one of my favorite spots. Get there early and you will hear the engine pounding away for about 10 minutes before you see it. I think I posted a video on here a couple years ago of 489 down there.

PS to be clearer, the gate is up near the highway, so you cannot really drive to the crossing. Also I did not like having to cross the bridge. I am not as young as I used to be!
