Well I'll be! I've been looking at the that stack for years and never realised, thanks for telling me. None of the Emma Sweeny (RGS 20) restoration project has been grant aided and it enjoys an important role as it stands in the pavilion that used to be occupied by the 315 and it focuses rom Durango being a railroad town, which it always will be, to being the Hollywood of the Rockies.
I'd forgotten that part of the DRHS site which is dreadful as I'm the webmaster though I didn't built that part of it and it needs some TLC. Mea Culpa - I'll get on the case.
Many replacement parts for the Emma Sweeny were made by Charlie Schumacher. Charlie also worked on restoration work at the Strater Hotel in Durango. Barry Stone of Mancos as well as Dave Taylor of Farmington also contributed together with a whole host of people including local schools making for a good joint community project.
