Probably just two, Greg – late August is usually a pretty slow time, so no double-headers from Chama to Cumbres.

Or use #463 eastbound from Chama to Antonito, and #315 westbound the second day. IMHO that would add a LOT of interest to the trips, without compromising the histœrical integrity of the 1968 Phraud-O-Freights.

GREAT Ideas, Greg -
And it would put some money in the 315 coffers, too!
With just seven boxcars available, only the front half of the train (westbound) or the back half of the train (eastbound) can be made to look like the August 1968 original, but the other half of either train could be made to look like any typical freight of the last year or two (NOT the 'Mad Dash', 'cause we don't got no K-28's) — or even add a few tank cars for a realistic 1964 or earlier train.

p.s. You don't need any fans for the 'brakeman' shot – there was a soft, drizzling rain that afternoon, but I don't remember any wind. OTOH, the trees have grown so much at that spot that there's no way you'd get the engines in the photo, and the brakeman only if he were two or three cars farther back
