Farewell to Jim Vail

I am deeply saddened by the passing of another well respected member of our narrow gauge community. I will certainly miss Jim Vail's columns in the Narrow Gauge and Shortline Gazette. His articles have been an inspiration for me and many others. I briefly met Jim at a Narrow Gauge convention in Colorado Springs. He was friendly, chatty and even offered to assist me in editing some articles I had planned on writing. Sadly, my procrastination prevented me from following up on his gracious offer.
