Thanks everyone for your interest in the 61. Funny story with this one, I got a Baldwin standard gauge 2-6-2 for $2.00 from a company that was going out of business a few years ago in one of those "it has to be moved in two weeks" scenarios. I did some work on it with my compatriots, but when I accepted my position with C&TS I had two standard gauge locomotives and I was moving to the land of narrow gauge. So I made a trade with Steven Butler, my basket case 2-6-2 for his basket case WPY 61. Stockton Locomotive Works is my personal company and I bought a building in Antonito and moved my machinery, etc in this summer. The 61 is a personal project, and who knows where it could run in the future. If my standard gauge 0-4-0T, Santa Cruz Portland Cement 2, is any indication, lots of things are possible. However, I much prefer rebuilding locomotives than running them, and I am looking forward to years of enjoyment to be had rebuilding this "gem." This is strictly an off hours project, but I agree, it would look wonderful on the C&TS for an event or the like. For more information, check out our facebook page or contact me privately. Once again, thank you for your interest in a fun project.
Best,
Stathi
