Exactly! During my time in the shop on the D&S, we would mark just about everything with a paint marker, just like this, prior to disassembly. When you have 2-3 engines apart for various re-builds, and parts located everywhere, this is a real lifesaver as you work through the re-building and assembly phase. Even with a single locomotive, it is very helpful.

Been there...done that...!
