As you make donations in addition to the regular ticket sales please remember the Durango Railroad Historical Society, DRHS315.org. DRHS owns 315 and a small group of volunteers does the servicing, maintenance as well as the annual inspection work on the engine. We operated the engine ten service days this year on the C&TS. We had great support from the railroad. Last winter they lead a small group of us through changing 6 flues. After opening day, the C&TS staff lead the work to add 750 gal of water capacity to 315's tender.
The DRHS 315 crew would like to thank all the employees of the RR for a great year of operation in 2017. 315 will be staying in Chama this winter so work can progress on 168 in Antonito. We are beginning the planning for some trips next year with the RR and the Friends of the C&TS for 2018.
This was the tenth anniversary of 315's return to steam. The crew that maintains the engine thanks all the volunteers that worked for 7 years in Santa Rita Park in Durango to bring her back in August of 2007.
