There was a tank at Woodstock before the infamous slide. Not sure of current situation, but in 1982 when I hiked the west side of Alpine, starting from Quartz and spending the night at Alpine Tunnel station, you could still find the foundation blocks the tank had sat on and the delivery pipe was still running. Tasty, cold water the pipe had too.
