I've done some online searches and came up blank. And my Rio Grande published source material on my bookshelves are also blank. Can someone point me to a source with information about the career of Micah T. Burgess, D&RGW's chief engineer in the 1870s and 1880s? Specifically, I'm looking for when he no longer held the position and was replaced by George Goss, who was general superintendent of the Scofield roads when Palmer bought them in 1880-1881. Goss oversaw the conversion of D&RGW from narrow gauge to standard gauge, and remained as chief engineer of RGW until the 1891-1893 period. Also, I'm a bit curious about who replaced Goss. Online newspapers are not helpful at all. All that I have come up with is the attached blurb from March 1873, too early for Burgess' involvement with Palmer's D&RGW.
I'm gathering some biographical notes for George Goss on this web page.
