This was apparently a fairly common Davenport model built over several years in several variations. You're right, the engine does not look like a V-8 D17000, but maybe a Inline 4 or 6. I think I read it had a Cat D7700, don't know much but it was supposed to be a 1930s 1940s tractor engine with 6x9 cylinders.
