The Taupo Totara Timber Co crossed the Waikato river on New Zealand's longest Wooden Bridge at Ongaroto on the North Island.
While it is extremely rare to find examples of Suspension bridges in Railroad use due to the destructive forces transmitted through the track structure, some did exist.
This ingenious example used both boxtrusses and arch construction with additional support derived from the use of suspension cables.
