I will always have fond memories of the GCR...great railroad to ride, great railroad to chase and photograph
and best of all, great outfit to work for. They were a very professional operation with the most steam tight
boilers that I have ever been around. The 29 is one of the most outstanding pullers in the US,
I was encouraged to ride (free) on my days off and I did this once a month.
I was told to wait until the final 15 minutes before obtaining my seat so that I could get in one of the upgraded cars
which I was able to do.
One of the few places where steam runs at 40 mph (omitting mainline excursions).
