Sorry, I can not find the thread of the C19s that started out F&CC NG - D&RGW (or RGW) SG - returned to NG.
I just found my copy of "Rio Grande to the Pacific". I did finds some locos that were originally class 60N and converted to C60S (nomenclature unique to the book). Seeing the SG version that was to become the C16 looks like the training wheels Dad put on my bicycle while I was learning to ride.
The two 60S in photos are easily recognizable as C16 but the wheels are wrong. If you knew about the SG conversion, it is easy to understand but I would guess that if you did not know about the NG to SG conversion, it might be a odd looking Class 60.
