My apologies to Boxcar Betty for posting this to her subject line. When you posted your Gato photos to this message, I could not resist. In August 1999,my wife and I, in our 4x4, decided to drive from Chama to Farmington when we came upon Gato. I knew it was there but did not realize beforehand just how fascinating it was. I took many color photos there since the Gomez store still was there. Gomez' granddaughter showed me around but focussed mainly on the Gomez store. 12 years later, I photographed the Gomez Store at the Harmon Estate Park in west Pagosa Springs, where it had been moved in 2000 or 2001.
