Here's a closer view of the Butterfly Trestle, Chris -
Clearly showing the "bridges" of huge timbers holding up some bents that otherwise would have been based in the middle of the stream:
Sometime between early September 1968 when I took the above photo and 1972 when I moved to Telluride for while, the owner of the adjacent Butterfly Mine bulldozed the trestle and used the timbers to support his tunnels . . .
