Typical RR discussion-board problems - #22 & #23

February 19, 2016 05:34PM avatar
So Far, So Good John -

But unmentioned so far is -
  22.  The failure of most posters to edit the subject line when the topic changes -
whether a minor shift to a related sub-topic or an egregious hijacking for nefarious and self-serving reasons.
And also -
  23.  Replying to the root post, when the subject of the response is a sub-sub-sub topic or even a sub-sub-sub-sub topic which -
due to any of the 21 reasons originally listed (above) has little (if anything) to do with said root post, and which is so greatly
exacerbated by problem #22 (op cit) that - after several others have responded directly to the post in question - said reply is
so far down the list of responses to the root post that it is difficult to determine the subject post to which the replyor in question
is responding.   (E.G. [ngdiscussion.net] and [ngdiscussion.net].   This is a minor example, as there is only one intermediate
response between the statement, "610 had a stoker." and the correction, "610 is an oil burner....no stoker required.", but it
does serve to clearly illustrate the seriousness of this problem.)

- Sincerely, Willie  (Wm. Claude Johnson-Barr III, Esq.)   smoking smiley
