Hi,
I found this interesting photo in American Narrow Gauge Railroads p153.
1) this is an outside frame 2-6-0
2) the near ring rail is above ground
3) the turntable has the bottom chord of the turntable is curved - It is very similar to the bending moment graph of the section
4) There are circular cutouts in the side panels to save weight since the shear on the table is constant throughout
5) I recognize the Westinghouse air brake system but the caption says there is also an Eames vacumm system also.
6) there are two sand pipes from the sand box to the same location in front of the first driver.
