Last weekend was our annual trek to the C&C country. We had 7 people in attendance. This time I got 17 comparisons to share over the next few months. As always we'll start at one end and work our way over the line. Here's a set of photos taken below Chalfant (north of Laws). The "Then" photo was taken in 1942 just before the section from Laws to Benton Station was abandoned. It is from Brian Norden's collection. The "Now" shot was taken on Sept. 13, 2014. It's hard to tell a railroad ran here due to the widening of the highway and the vegetation changes over the past 72 years.
