Society for the Preservation of Carter Brothers Railroad Resources

Folks,
the Society for the Preservation of Carter Brothers Railroad Resources is hosting their annual Washing Township Railroad Fair this weekend. The are running a couple of 0-4-0 H. K. Porter steam locomotives. There is video of them on U-tube from earlier visits.

but their big news is that they have laid track into thir new Car Barn. for the first time ever they will have an indoor location to work on and display their narrow gauge cars.

i got a chance to see the South Pacific Coast #47 combine; the Society's first car which they got back in the 1970s. It was also the SP 455, among other numbers. And the Nevada Central #253 box car which is from the Monterey And Salinas Valley in 1874; where the Carter Brothers built their first order of cars. Its original number is not known on the M&SV.

If anyone is near Fremont, California today or tomorrow it would be a fun outing. Or they have their Pumpkin Patch trains in October.
