My opinion is that it would have been unlikely that a scrapper would buy the line and then not scrap it, given the Great Depression going on at that time. If anything it might have been bought and cut back leaving just Farmington to Strong or Phillips, it might have been barely viable then. If it lasted to the War then it might be saved, although even the War wasn't enough to save the Monson RR!
