Narrow Gauge World Travelers

Have any of you international railfans traveled the meter gauge line from Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City) to Hanoi?

When I was playing in Lyndon Johnson's little escapade in SE Asia, a portion of it ran past our perimeter with one steamer and one diesel to be seen occasionally. But I am not sure why they bothered in those days as the line was fragmented due to enemy activity. No idea whether the line was restored post-unification.

Further research has revealed that at least a half hearted attempt at restoring the line has taken place but it is in marginal condition at the moment. Someone is selling tickets for the trip but it appears to be a scam at best. There does not seem to be any effort by the railroad company to attract foreigners.
