Happenings in Georgetown

May 22, 2000 02:29PM
Friday afternoon I stopped by Silver Plume. Number 40 was in the shop having valve gear reinstalled. She looks better than ever. I only wish I could have been in town a few days later and seen her on a trial run. The #44 was being readied for the trip by truck up the hill, to go in the shop for restoration. The C&S replica caboose looks like it is ready for placement in front of the Georgetown depot. Keep up the great work.
Inside the C&S tomb a restored coach rests along with another boarded up car. The business car is under restoration. The coach really looks great from what I could see. It is too bad that it may never make the trip over the loop.
