PS. After all the loverly children and their parents went on their way, the operations crew of the #130 parked the cars, said their prayers, and and let me take a couple of laps of the museum on a light engine while sitting at the throttle. No simulators! This is the real thing! Trust me, it is easy to make 54 tons move; it is not so easy to gracefully slow or stop. I am pleased to report I managed to stay on the rails and not hit anybody or anything. It's one of the perks of being a regular museum grunt. Did I mention that the museum also recently gave me a 50% raise?
