Earl I have to agree the K27s came a long long way in the looks dept. The 463 and 464 are way cool steamers.
When I was growing up the Antonito Local would come by the house with a standard gauge 2-8-0 on the head end. It looked pretty drab compared to a couple of narrow gauge mikes (mostly K37s)pulling a pipe train at full speed. I am sure the narrow gauge engines was going as fast as our good Lord would permit considering they had 65 cars attached. Then, sometimes the standard gauge train would have a black diesel, that was really boring but at least it was the right color-black. I thought all engines should be black.
When I saw the 463 the first time at work double headed with the 489 on the CATS, I was in love with the K27s as well.
