Here's a couple of the Butterfly Trestle taken in late summer, 1968. If you took a tour
"around the circle" from Durango to Ouray via Rico in one direction and Silverton in the
other, you could have seen it from highway 145 a few miles south of Telluride. By the
time I moved there in the fall of 1972 the trestle had been torn down, and the timbers
used to shore up the nearby Butterfly Mine
