You have a good point, John. I'm just thinking that even if #169 is restored to service, she is still going to spend most of her time on display. What better way to illustrate the trials and tribulations a steam locomotive goes through in her life than to have along side this aftermath of a wreck in which she was involved.
In the same vein, I would like to see the original cab of 486(?) retrieved, along with the pilot plow that is down in the trees between Cumbres and Los Pinos. All of these can be educational reminders of the harsh life of mountain railroading.
